The purpose of the Social Action committee is to stimulate social action and education on current issues. Since its inception in 1913, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has been in the forefront of serving as an agent of change for social justice.
 
Our Social Action goals entail:

• Influencing the enactment of legislation, national and local, of particular interest to African-Americans and women.
• Maintaining vigilance over action or inaction by local judicial and administrative agencies and officials
• Encouraging increased appointment and upgrading of African-American women in policy-making positions in government, nationally and locally

 Through taking an active interest in the welfare of our country, we ensure that the rights and privileges of those in our communities are respected and upheld.
