Our soror, Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones (September 10, 1949 - August 20, 2008) was a Democratic politician and member of the United States House of Representatives. A trailblazer in law and politics, Congresswoman Tubbs Jones represented Ohio’s 11^th Congressional District with the distinction of being the FIRST African-American woman to be elected to the United States House of Representatives from Ohio.

In remembrance of Congresswoman Tubbs Jones, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and former U.S. President Bill Clinton have established a scholarship in her name with the Delta Foundation, an entity of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
